Brown Snout is an English bittersweet cider apple. This heirloom was first discovered in Herefordshire in the mid 18th century. The fruit is small, green, russeted and snout-like.
Produces a late harvest cider, that is mildly bittersweet, and has soft tannin and delicate aromas. Autumn from Eve's Cidery say that it is "One of the best. Bittersweet with soft, warming tannins that are never bitter."
Brown Snout is late-flowering, medium sized, and stiffly upright. Self-fertile, ripens late-October. Susceptible to fireblight.
