Bulmer's Norman is a bittersweet cider apple first discovered in Normandy, imported to England in early 1900s.
The apple is medium large, green-yellow. Yields an astringent juice that is quick to ferment to a bitterswet cider, ideal for mixing.
The tree is large and spreading, with early bloom and biennial tendencies. Triploid. Scab susceptible. Very winter hardy; has come through -40 without serious damage, should be hardy to zone 4. Ripens in mid-October in upstate New York.
