Chisel Jersey is an English cider apple that first originated in Somerset in the 19th century.
The fruit is green with red flush. Bittersweet flavor. Autumn from Eve's Cidery warns that there are very hard tannins, and to be careful when blending.
The tree is vigorous, medium-sized and a heavy but somewhat biennial bearer. Extremely winter-hardy, should be hardy to zone 4. Ripens in mid-November in upstate New York.
