Edelborsdorfer is one of the oldest European apples, it was mentioned in a charter dating from 1175 A.D. This was a popular variety in Germany and Austria. Imported into England for Queen Charlotte, wife of George III. Recorded by Cordus in 1561.

The apple is yellow with a pink flush, uncommon for the time. Flavor is sweet, scented, juicy and winey.

Long-lived, cold tolerant tree.
