Enterprise (also known as Co-op 30) is an apple that was developed by PRI (Purdue, Rutgers, Illinois Co Op) in 1993. It counts Rome, McIntosh, and Golden Delicious among its pedigree. Enterprise is extraordinarily disease-resistant, grower-friendly, pretty apple for eating out-of-hand. Ideal for the no-spray backyard grower.
The fruit is round, medium large, with a glossy full red color. Flesh is yellow-cream, firm, crisp, somewhat similar to Idared. Storage ability 4-6 months with a slight increase in flavor intensity. Skin may be too tough to eat without peeling.
Tree is spreading and vigorous. Immune to scab, resistant to fire blight and cedar apple rust, moderately resistant to mildew. Ripens in late October, after Rome, before Braeburn, with Winesap. A royalty of $1.00 is added to the base price of this tree.
