Frostbite is open pollinated Malinda which survived the killing Minnesota winter of 1917-8. This apple is a parent of Keepsake and Sweet Sixteen, Grandparent of Honeycrisp.

Frostbite is small (~2 1/2"), maroon-red. It is very sweet, juicy and almost mollasses like. Good for fresh eating and wildlife.

Low to medium vigor, spreading. Very cold hardy, hardy to zone 3. A royalty of $1.35 is added to the base price of this tree.
